I went back to church after more than a decade when my sister got married last year, and again when my brother got married more recently. Both times it just reinforced the idea that my athiesm was justified.
I was raised Catholic, and both masses were also Catholic. All the monotone chanting, disturbing images on the wall, and general message being conveyed (we’re nothing without god) just made me uncomfortable. I saw no difference between them and cults they show in movies who do wierd things to show how wierd they are.
