An Eye question

I was reading through the archives here and I saw the question about the “shimmying eyes” (It’s one of those weird things that I can also do. My friends say it looks really weird). It made me think of something else I can do that I’ve never found an explanation for. I can scan my eyes slowly from right to left without having to follow anything. It’s like when you go to the eye doctor and he has you follow the little flashlight (but without the flashlight). It’s one smooth movement, slowly from right to left (don’t have to follow anything). I can do it even if there are things moving in the opposite direction in front of me. No one else i’ve asked is able to do it and I can only do it right to left. If I try left to right it’s really jerky and not smooth at all. Is this something really common? When I was a kid I thought everyone could do it and I would wonder why only right to left. Any thoughts? Thanks.

The jerky movement is a sure sign of DUI per a FST!

Most often observed on traffic stops for erratic driving.
