Gah, you have it easy. I’d just be happy to be able to use the computers in my school’s library to search for a book - they’re always taken up by students, Japanese or otherwise, using the computers to play games or check email.

That’s becoming my standard city library rant. Sometimes all I need is a card catalog. I wish they’d kept one.

The libraries in my last town (Bucheon), this town (Busan), and in Yolo County all had computers dedicated to the online card catalog. There were separate computers for web surfing, games, and the like.

Every library I’ve used in Florida, Las Vegas, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, and San Jose is like that too, Monty.

I hope the Google overlord 1984 Big Brother secret police aren’t looking at this posting but have you tried using another search engine? Yes, I know it is sacrilege to even suggest taking such action but there are other ways to search without using Google :eek:
