Last I heard, Tuckerfan, you were unhappy with your job situation. Of course, I may not have kept up, so forgive me if I’m wrong.
Still, I thought you might be interested in this. It seems Burt Rutan is hiring skilled machinists (among others) for this new venture with Virgin. Personally, I think it would be way cool if you ended up working there.
I wish I had skills he was looking for. Unfortunately, I don’t see anything about computer programmers being wanted.
Burt’s already got a copy of my resume (though not a recently updated one) and I haven’t heard from him yet. Of course, there’s the WTF do I do factor at the moment if he offers me a job, seeing as how I’m presently helping to restore the Tucker which used to belong to George Lucas, and it’s going to be a couple more weeks or longer before it’s done (plus, it looks like the original blueprints for Tuckers have recently resurfaced) so if Rutan needed me today, it’d be a bit hard for me to simply bail on this job, ya know?
I might send them a résumé, though not for that job. I have loads of data experience, including flight test data processing at Edwards, and I have some CAD experience. My security clearance expired about ten years ago though. I’ve bookmarked Scaled Composites’s Careers page.
