An Opposite Question re: Soundtrack in a Movie or TV Episode

The usual question is “what was that music playing in such and such thing”.

My question is the opposite. I recall Green Day’s Good Riddance (I hope you had the time of your life) being used particularly well in some TV episode or movie, but damned if I remember where I heard it.

Is there some way to search for soundtrack credits?

What say you, Dopers?

I remember it being used in some kind of Seinfeld retrospective thing (it was like a clip show, it might have been one of the last episodes). I also remember a female doctor on E.R. singing it at a memorial ceremony for a dead child.

…but to answer the question you actually asked, sometimes wikipedia will include information like that. In fact the Seinfeld episode is mentioned on the wiki page for that song.

It was the second-last episode of Seinfeld, The Clip Show, which was broadcast with the final episode.

As mentioned it was also used on ER but I remember the song becoming quite a huge hit after appearing in Seinfeld and would bet that’s the show most people associate with it.

Seinfeld is my favourite show of all time and I may or may not have shed a tear during the song, please don’t tell anyone. :frowning:

It looks like IMDB also has some information on Green Day music appearing in film and television:

I just saw that Seinfeld episode again recently. It was quite effective.

Songs have wiki pages now?

Anyway, it probably was the Seinfeld episode I was thinking of.
