An overall good feeling has encompassed me

I have been in debt for quite some time now. I have had minimum payments for my credit cards that I couldn’t pay. Well today I sat down and went through my enormous stack of bills and have them all eady to go out in the mail. I’m finally starting to catch up on my debt. I am planning on paying off all my credit cards this next year. I’m eternally grateful to my parents for letting my husband and I move in to get our debt behind us. I’m feeling wondeful. I haven’t felt this wonderful in so long.

You and your new husband moved in with your parents???

Its a very good idea to pay those down tuby, its FAR better to owe nothing and have no savings than to be saving in one account and paying interest to the credit card companies.

Did you and your husband consider cutting them up and getting a consolidation loan? The interest is almost always lower, and it wraps everything into a tidy payment.

( good luck sweetie  )

Well we don’t use our credit card anymore. We had then because we had a lot of car repairs, rent, injuries on the job, etc. We didn’t buy entertainment centers or anything nice for ourselves. (except for my inexpensive wedding ring set) I thought about consolidating them, but one of the cards is in my mother-in-laws name, so we can’t consolidate that. The others we are just going to cose with the exception of two for regular stuff, like online purchases. We are just going to work fromthe small dinky cards up to the 2 big cards. It is $12,000.00.

The whole parent thing is really nice though. My parents have a large house. Chris and I get one whole wing to ourselves. 3 bedrooms and a bath. I’ve always gotten along with my parents better than any of my siblings (never rebeled) so it has been working out really well. I love coming home to dinner at 7:00pm every night too.

I was having such a depression these past 6 months. Everything felt to be burdening my shoulders. This is the first time in a long while I felt happy about my overall life.

And guess what!!! I get to go back to school !!! We can finally afford for me to go. I start at the community college in january.

No. Don’t work from the smallest card to the largest.

Work from the highest interest rate to the lowest.

Determine how much money you can put towards debt reduction each month. Pay the minimum on every credit card.

Total Monthly Debt Reduction - Mimum Payments = How much more than minimum you send to your highest interest debt. Do not view all your debts as separate, view it all as one big debt and pay of those portions that cost more, first.
