Anatomy: why is it hard for a man to pee shortly after ejaculation?

I question the premise. I’ve never had any difficulty peeing shortly after ejaculating. In fact, I sometimes find it easier to do so, in cases where I didn’t feel any particular bladder pressure before ejaculation.

If you are both just enjoying the after glow while still joined and you had to pee somewhat badly, not doing it in the woman is probably a good thing.

Well unless you are kinky in that way.

YMMV

And they also prevent a man from urinating at the time, too.

Not for women, it isn’t.

it is a sign you need to come again. empty one tank then the other.

I hate to revive such an old thread, but I just had to respond to this. You do realize that procreation usually takes more than one or even a few tries, and the more the better in the sense of spreading genes. First, even if this mechanism indeed only had a post-coitus effect that wouldn’t make it selectively neutral. If the lack of such a mechanism increased the risk of death, possibly due to bladder infection or even causing it to fill with semen over time, then the male would get much fewer opportunities to copulate. This would therefore cause him to be selected against compared to someone with this mechanism. Second, if this is indeed due to contraction of the urethral sphincter muscles to prevent semen from getting into the bladder, then by definition it is not a “post-ejaculation” event nor does it occur “after the male has bred,” so your entire selectively neutral argument is invalid.

It helps to pull out first.

From experience in my younger years: When i’d wake up with a full bladder demanding to be emptied, and and partner wanting sex, I’d of course chose the latter. After the sex, I could immediately urinate heavily, but og was I in pain from the tip of my penis to my prostrate for hours afterward.

I always wondered what was up with that, and after about the twelfth time I learned it pays to get up and pee first.

Sorry for the double post, I thought it was an edit. Admin, please remove the first?

Just out of curiosity, how does one stumble upon such an old thread?

Regarding the PEUC, if my experience is any hallmark, the PEUC diminishes substantially with age. The “post ejaculatory” period has shrunk considerably (:D) as I’ve gotten older.

J.

It was less than 2 years old, we have had resurrections much more stunning than that.

Because I’ve already peed all over my partner.

Not really, honey.

Interesting, CraterLayer. I’ve got a similar thing, though it’s more like “urinating any time right before or right after ejaculating risks, but doesn’t guarantee, some serious burny times.” Never thought much of it, other than to occasionally have to remind myself about it. I figured it had something to do relative pHes of urine and semen, but that was totally just a WAG. I also assumed it was something everyone experienced, until I mentioned it to a partner; he was rather concerned, but as it was something I’d experienced since I first figured out masturbation, I was pretty sure it wasn’t a VD.

Anyway, I’m mildly curious enough to write this post.

Lawmonkey, you’re right, the pain I felt was also burning.

I’m curious enough to quote it.

Why not take a minute and pee first? Is she going to go somewhere? Will she suddenly be not in the mood anymore, develop a headache?

I would think that a body with an empty badder would function better thus improving the over all experience.
