How do you think all that “Obama is a Muslim” misinformation gets disseminated? Check these out…and note how many are false, and how many were “collected via e-mail”.
I almost feel sorry for the Democrats. The more they attack Palin, the more popular she becomes and the more Obama drops in the polls.
For pity’s sake. Nobody’s denying that these claims get disseminated via e-mail. NOBODY.
You didn’t merely say that e-mail is used to spread scurrilous anti-Obama messages. Rather, you specifically said that “it is **much more commonly used **for right-wing anti-Obama content.” (Emphasis added.) Obviously, you can’t prove such a claim simply by pointing to an “Obama is a Muslim” e-mail message and saying “See? See!?!?!?”
Tied?
It’s closer - to be expected after the RNC. But still not a tie…
I could post a link to the corresponding Snopes entry of scurrilous anti-McCain e-mails, which is virtually non-existent. But I’ll leave that as an exercise for the student.
JT, I will grant that you do pose an interesting question, that would make a good separate thread. Do bullshit emails tend to skew right-wing? If so, why?
(and why are the ads on the bottom of the page all about flatulence?)
And the hits keep on coming! Welcome to Dairygate!
Highly slanted but ‘all the info in one place’ link.

What can I say? She’s the gift that keeps on giving!
Holy shit, E-Sabbath, her corruption never seems to end!
And now the Alaska Legislature has announced that it’s “fast-tracking” their findings on Troopergate and releasing the results of their investigation by October 10th, three weeks earlier than previously planned.
They’re also issuing subpoenas, now that 7 witnesses have backed out of voluntary witnessing (gee, I wonder why).

Whoa, wait a tick, IIRC it is typical for the candidate that is just ending his convention to get ahead in the polls by several points, if they are not even tied now I do begin to be really optimistic on seeing a Democratic victory on November.
I am going to repeat that the link I gave is highly biased, but I can’t find a non-biased version of events yet. It’s a shiny new thing and hasn’t hit the mainstream. Expect it in a week, right?
I swear there’s an echo in here… On page four I linked to a story about the Matanuska Dairy episode (among many others,) written by a former resident of the area. [whine] I don’t know why I even bother to write this stuff, nobody ever listens… [/whine]
I’m telling you all–GO READ THIS BLOG. Alaskan guy talking about Alaskan politics from an Alaskan point of view, and he knows the dirt. Just sayin’… Bristol’s pregnancy was leaked here first by a Wasilla resident in the comments on one of the blog posts. It’s all in here…
I’m sorry I missed it. Sometimes the “go to first post you haven’t read” button doesn’t actually take me to the first post I haven’t read in a thread, and I lose track of where I left off.
I notice your posts though, enough to have a girl crush on you (also on page 4). Hope that helps.
I did notice that, Shayna, and one version of that post actually had a shout out at the bottom (are batted eyelashes frowned on in GD? Anybody got a style book?) but the server was being incredibly unresponsive and somewhere in the approximately fifty times I tried to post that thing the acknowledgement got lost. BTW, you ain’t so bad yourself, cookie!
The whole thing about Palin is the sheer volume of crooked, nasty, and just plain weird stuff that’s come flying out of the closet–shit, a week ago we barely knew who the hell she was, and now we’re having to don hip waders to get through the muck this woman leaves behind her. So far my favorite is the AIP (Alaskan Independence Party–Todd Palin was a member as late as 2002) leader found wrapped in duct tape and tarp–from the NY Times archives:
Sheesh, you couldn’t possibly make this stuff up! It’s bizarre and freaky–it just boggles the mind that a vetting process could be so completely perfunctory as to miss this stuff. I mean shoot–McGovern had to dump Eagleton just because it came out the guy had had therapy, but this stuff is okay now?
No wonder I’ve had a migraine for days–cognitive dissonance does that to me…
I’m sorry… What did they miss again? That the founder of a party that Palin once said, “Have a nice year” to, managed to get himself killed buying or selling explosives? What in hell does that have to do with Palin? Obama complains about being asked to explain his close relationships with Bill Ayers and Tony Rezko, and you want to go after Palin for that? If you do, hang on to your hat because you’ll be giving the green light to McCain to hit Obama hard on his associations.
For the record, I called her “Governor Cupcake” because the name fits. s
I could have gone with “Governor Terrorist,” for her involvement with the Alaskan Independence Party So, hey, “Governor Pants-on-fire” would work too.
Heck, that last one would work too–Sarah Palin’s first child was conceived out of wedlock, by probably seven weeks or so. So maybe we could also go with “Governor Hypocrite,” for her stance on abstinence only sex educationi
Fiscally conservative small government, anti pork? Riiiiiight… McCain himself had “Mayor Porkbarrel” on his infamous list for several of her pet projects in Wasilla.
How about “Governor Bookburner?”
How about “Governor God-Warrior?”
Huh, here’s a new one–how about "Governor Milkmaid?"
I am in stunned awe - so many non-sexist winners to chose from with appropriate cites and everything! (and no i’m not being sarcastic.)
Turns out, according to MSNBC, she lied about the jet. She didn’t sell it on e-bay; she sold it to a campaign contributor. And she didn’t sell it for a profit; she sold it at a loss.
Missed the Milkmaid one, Alec. Sorry! The thread moved kind of fast.
What do we know about that so far? The articles I read suggested her husband was a member. The whole guilt by association thing is a crock of shit anyway. I don’t care if they knew some wack job or had him over for dinner , or took a campaign contribution from him. The thing that burns me is that they’ve been hammering away at Obama for months about his associations. Now here’s a woman with her own set of wacky friends and suddenly it’s irrelevant.
I’m not interested in dumping on Palin over that , There’s plenty of other material. It might be relevant to at least point out the hypocrisy of those who hammered Obama for similar issues.
Palins love of giving birth gives a new problem. If McCain goes down and she becomes president, she might be the first pregnant president. Something new for America to deal with. It there a point during pregnancy that she would be unable to govern. it is not a long time for most births but she could have complications due to age. But god may want her to have a bunch more.
