Headline in today’s Oregonian sports section about college girls’ basketball: Ducks Use Hot Hand to Scorch Beavers
The girls’ college basketball teams have the same names as the football teams? Is that normal?
Um… yeah? Generally, all the teams at a given school have the same nicknames, and usually the women’s teams are “Lady (whatevers).”
Joe
I suspect some thought was given as to the wisdom of having a “Lady Beavers” team.
So was it the Ducks that scored or the Beavers?
Just think of all the victories they could snatch from the other team, based on the fundamentals: effective use of a zone defense to guard the hole, remembering to box out, and being able to dominate by means of the fast break.
Good point. I’m sure the Beavers were thoroughly licked.
I’ll be in my bunk.
