Hmm, you’d think I’d have seen the one by Copley by now, I’ve been around there a time or five.
Still, why go to Wendy’s when the TB is right down the street? Mmm… bean burrito with sour cream…

Taco Bell sucks anyway. If you wanted a decent Mexican fast food, you would visit any of the Del Taco’s here in Southern Kalifornia.
No way Del Taco beats Taco Bell! HAHA, thats just ridiculous. Unless I’m thinking of some other taco stand in SoCal. They serve burgers, too, right?
Well, I’ve only been to one so maybe I shouldn’t judge too harshly. But still… even the worst TB I’ve had beat out the best DT I’ve had, at least at that one place.
I have to agree with erislover, Del Taco sucks. The only good thing about Del Taco are the commercials.
As far as real mexican restaurants east of New Mexico, man they just don’t exist.
Slee:::Dreaming of a Los Quates large beef enchilada plate with green chile and a side of Guac. MMMMMMM, Los Quates:::::
Why the fuck are we talking about real Mexican restaurants? This is a thread about Taco Bell. Taco Bell is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a real Mexican restaurant. It’s a cheap fast food joint that sells kinda maybe Mexican style fast food. Which is what I was in the mood for the other day, in addition to the digital camera. Neither of which I got. Hence the whole rant thing in the OP.
Gee, another Best Buy related rant. How unusual.
Not criticizing you, waterj, just them.
Am I the only one who finds that this shit smacks of classism? I considered posting to that effect yesterday, but the OP seemed content to play along.
Are people no longer allowed to rant if their taste doesn’t live up to your standards? Do you people have so much money and free time that you never need to grab a quick meal at a fast food joint?
¿De qué cosa estás hablando? Do you see anyone trying to tell waterj2 not to rant? I don’t.
I think I suggested going to an actual Mexican restaurant instead. And some other people started discussing Mexican restaurants. Don’t recall trying to prevent discussion of Taco Bell.
And what planet do you get that “classism” thing from? Did anyone suggest that waterj2 was inferior for wanting to go to Taco Bell? No. All I see are opinions, favourable and unfavourable, about Taco Bell, and one suggestion to go to a Mexican restaurant falta de Taco Bell.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that this is the “foodie” equivalent of the platform hijacks we see whenever someone has a technical prob. with their computer.
It does seem classist to me, most people who have to actually work for a living eat a lot of fast food due to time and money constraints. A real Mexican restaurant costs more than Taco Bell.
Yeah, but considering that I stated that I was planning on buying a digital camera, and that I was willing to go a bit out of my way for Taco Bell specifically, I think it could be assumed that I could afford real Mexican food. At least this once.
Matt-mcl accused of classism. Just when I thought I’d seen everything. While we’re at it, why don’t we just lump him in with the Religious Right.
Sorry waterj2, I did read the OP, but it read to me like the Bell was a time thing- you mentioned barely having time to get there. I guess if you don’t have a problem I’ll just shut up.
Taco Bell tried opening up in my town where we already have a few Taco Time fast food franchises.
Needless to say, Taco Bell shut up shop and went away.
Taco Time 3, Taco Bell 0. All Mexican style fast food is not equal.
Keep an eye out for KFCs, which are often combined with Taco Bells, they have the same parent company. There’s one on Broadway in Somerville that is a combined restaurant and I’m sure I’ve seen others.
Yeah, Telemark, the one by me here on Mass Ave is a TB/KFC. Love the ckicken and taco combo!
LOL! Can’t you just see me?
spotlight goes up “Sheaves.” snaps fingers “Bringing in… the sheaves.”
After the initial puzzlement, the classism thing engendered a brief, bitter laugh, considering that our household is currently so far below the poverty line that we probably qualify for refugee status. I appreciate your loyalty, waterj2.
There are where there are populations of Mexican people. There’s one or two good ones not far from here, owned by families who were originally here because of jobs at the meatpacking plants.
And the Comm Ave Taco Bell is also a (sort of) Pizza Hut (you can get personal size pizzas there as well, maybe only pepperoni and cheese, though. Anyway, very limited selection, but there.)
Oh yeah! There’s one of those in Burlington, and Quincy too if I’m not mistaken. I love the buscuits from KFC, and they seem to go well with the stuff Taco Hell serves. Sort of like a sponge for your tummy that buys you an extra 20 minutes till you get home.
Dear Lord that’s amusing. Not the kind of thing you want to read after having eaten the food.
Forget Taco Bell - since they closed the one in the THeater District, there’s only one Wendy’s in Boston
(or at least downtown Boston)
[Andy Rooney] Why is that, anyway?[/Andy Rooney].
