ArchiveGuy" !
To explain: I was peripherally involved, through my job, in contributing some material to an episode of a cable TV series (one, I should note, that I’d never watched before). It was fun though a bit time-consuming, but then my work inevitably continued with other projects.
Well, this last week, I was told that the episode would be airing, so the Mrs. and I sat down to take a look at what they’d used from amongst the stuff I’d provided. Overall, it was a generally well-put-together show (which I’d interrupt occasionally to say “I gave them that!” or “They got that from me!”)
Then, while I’m scanning the credits for people I knew who’d worked on it, the “Special Thanks” credit came up, and I was listed!!! Although I’ll admit I had been hoping I might be, I also knew (from plenty of past experience) that projects you put a ton of effort into often yield zero credit time (since it’s often based as much on politics as it is on merit).
Needless to say, Mrs. AG was even more excited than I was, which makes me glad. My first broadcast TV credit (and, quite probably, my last). Still, a very nice surprise.
