And the MacLean Stevenson award for career stupidity goes to...

Anthony Edwards…Linda Fiorentino…and Wildest Bill star in…

Gotcha Ya!

Edwards left late in the show’s run. I wouldn’t count him. He made bajillions! He could retire today and buy and sell all our sorry butts.

What about Mrs. Jason Sehorn? She may deserve a spot.

This is why I think Friends will be back next year. None of them are going to recapture this lightning in a bottle!

That wasn’t because she wanted to do movies. She and Penny Marshall had had a contentious relationship from Day One. As much as they really tried to keep it professional, the fact that Penny was the naturally funny one and Cindy was just the natural Straight (Wo)Man pretty destroyed any chance of equilibrium. It didn’t help that Penny’s brothers (Garry and Eddie) were the producers. Finally, after seven (eight?) seasons, Cindy couldn’t take it anymore. It’s so cringe-worthy watching Penny Marshall try to carry the show alone – the opening credits, where they try to obscure the fact that it’s pretty much Laverne & Furniture, are a hoot.

Clint Eastwood moved from TV to the movies. He was a huge TV star for about 10 years before going to Spain to shoot sphaghetti westerns.

Denise Crosby also starred in ‘Pet Sematary’. Pretty good movie, but her part was totally forgettable.

Wasn’t Teri Garr a first season regular on M.A.S.H.? I know she hasn’t done much lately, but she was on fire for several years.

Well, I was gonna be a smartass and point you to this, but then when I went to find that first link, I discovered, to my astonishment, this!

[sub]The horror, the horror…[/sub]

Nah ! My vote for a working title is Revenge of the Nerds : the Next Generation

[sub]Hey, if they made a Degrassi : the Next Generation and a He Shoots, He Scores : the Next Generation, why not that ?[sub]

Did Shelley Long do anything remotely successful after leaving Cheers? Not that I liked Diane Chambers much …

Considering it lasted only one season, that’s no big accomplishment.

She was not a regular. In fact I only remember her from one episode as one of Hawkeye’s disposable love interests. IIRC she has been ill of late and so can’t work as much as she’d like to or as much as others would like her to, so she’s taking it easy on the sofa over at I’ve Got a Secret.

I disagree. I’ve never watched Buffy, and as far as I can tell Seth Green has a solid career going. I think he’ll be just fine.

Seth Green’s doing pretty well in the movies. He doesn’t have any leading roles (and considering his quirky looks, he may never get them) but he wasn’t a lead on BtVS. In fact, he was never made a cast member, as I recall. He had a long stint as a guest, as did Christine Sutherland as Joyce Summers.

StG

Farrah Fawcett bailed on Charlie’s Angels and eventually made it in TV movies, though it took a while.

She’s arguably the most successful of the Angels who left the show before it ultimately crashed and burned, though Kate Jackson (my personal favourite) did well with Scarecrow and Mrs. King and even has some Director/Producer credits to her name (including an episode of Dead Man’s Gun, the R-rated series produced by ex-Fonzie Henry Winkler).

When Sheriden’s insane ex-wife showed up on Babylon V, I was mildly disappointed that they’d cast Melissa Gilbert (Bruce Boxleitner’s real-life wife) instead of Jackson. Oh, well…

Actually, FIVE years…

On the other side of the coin: Pierce Brosnan wanted to leave MOONLIGHTING to do Bond films circa 1985, but NBC wouldn’t let him out of his contract. The culture would be immeasurably richer if he and Timothy Dalton had traded jobs on LAWNMOWER MAN, THE FOURTH PROTOCOL, LICENSE TO KILL and THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS.

I think it was Remington Steele that Pierce Brosnan was bound to by contract. His stint on Moonlighting was just a guest appearance as his Reminton Steele character.

E3

To be fair to David Caruso, he’s had some good supporting roles in films. He was great in ‘Mad Dog and Glory’ and in the underrated ‘Proof of Life’.

However, CSI: Miami is an abomination.

How about a sports hero?Ok, I can’t remember his name. But he was a running back for the Pittsburg Steelers wayyyyyy back in the day. He was THISCLOSE to breaking Jim Brown’s all time carreer running record when he left the Steelers to go to the Seahawks. He played maybe one season then retired, letting Walter Peyton get the record.I know a Steeler fan who still would love to punch him in the nose.

Stupid,Stupid,Stupid

Franco Harris. That’s him. Stupid,Stupid, Stupid

SNL cast memebers who left? Lets see…
Chevy Chase
Eddie Murphy
Hi Opal
Danny Acroyd(as well as the rest of the “not ready for prime time players”. Sans Garret Morris of course)
Dana Carvey
Rob Schnieder
David Spade
(I’m sure there is more, but those are the few who havn’t upset my digestion)

Bryan Eckers,Remember Kate & Ally Kate Jackson and Jane Curtin? FWIW, I thought Charlies Angels better w/o Miss Hair. Maybe it was that I was In Jr. High and just could not get my straight thin hair to feather like that.!
