And what have you done?

2002 Accomplishments or stuff to be grateful for:

Best year ever financially- Made some decent income after a horrific 2001 where deals were tanking left and right

Paid off 40K in credit cards

Bought a new Yukon Denali SUV

Got a bunch of poems published in Teemings

More cordial relationship (overall) with ex than in years past re cooperating as to what is best for kids.

Finally got a decent cellphone (Nokia 6360)

Got rid of my pager

Hard disk crash did not take my MP3 collection

Greatful that I didn’t injure myself worse or break anything when I fell off a chair I standing on and dislocated 3 fingers and cracked my tailbone.
2002 Regrets, realizations and procrastinations:

I’ve got a nice house and furniture but it’s cluttered with way too much electronics, PC stuff and extra furniture. Need a gigantic yard sale(s) this spring.

Lawn is in terrible shape this year. Didn’t take care of it at all.

Flagstones in front walkway are coming apart and didn’t do anything about it.

My King sized bed is still on the floor after 3 years of living here.

House interior needs painting and major cleaning of all rooms.

Wasted a lot of money on non-essential crap that was appealing at the time and ignored more pressing household maintenance things that needed to be done.

Attempts to get myself motivated to organize my household were not successful.

Determination to get off my ass and “do” more things with kids when they are with me instead of letting them vegetate and grow roots in front of PC or TV did not really pan out.

Biggest regret - Wasn’t able to make 2001 relationship with intelligent, attractive, sexy, talented, artistic woman who had serious jealousy issues work out. She never realized how close I was to asking her to marry me.

To Joe K:

We’re with you buddy. Though the internet cannot make up for real life relationships, the people at SDMB are an amazing group. Post whenever you feel like asking something or just with your observations of life in general. You would be surprised how writing something out helps you get a real handle on it.

And SDMB can be pretty entertaining, too.

Thanks, to you and everyone.

By the way, I notice you went by Lake Tenkiller; I was there, at the Duck Club. Did you happen by there yourself?

In chronological order.

Stayed in same underpaying job.
Fiancee got three pay increases. She now earns more than me. Whoo!
Got married. Wife has since had ANOTHER pay increase.
Grandmother died day after wedding.
My father yelled at me because he told me I was not invited to Xmas lunch, and that was my fault.
Decided to go to Europe next year as 1st Anniversary present to ourselves.
Watched fireworks. Then it was 2003
