Anderson Cooper getting the giggles

I echo the word ‘adorable’ incidentally, but then what that he does isn’t?

“Monsieur Depardieu, would you like a pillow?”

“Oui, oui!”

“Not in MY plane, baby.”

I’m sorry to be the killjoy here, but was that bit filmed live? Why couldn’t they edit it out? Did they leave it in just because it was soooooo adorable? Did the DeparDOO story even need to be on the AC360 show? Is it a news program or just a tribute to Anderson Cooper?

A part of the show is called the Ridikulist and is dedicated exclusively to lighthearted news stories.

That was broadcast on cable, so I’m not sure he’s in the closet anymore.

Yes, it was live TV.
My daughter showed it to me and I said, “Oh he’s sooooo adorable. And he has big ears.”

P.S. He’s in the closet? I thought he was out.

My cable package doesn’t include CNN anymore. Really have to revise my esteem for AC a bit, which is still based largely on his Katrina reporting. I didn’t realize that he was slowly turning into Katie Couric.

He’s going to host a daytime talk show starting in a few weeks, so that sounds pretty accurate.

Watching Anderson laugh really cracked me up. The jokes were lame but his laughing was hysterical. The funny thing is, I a 33 year old MAN, also laugh like a 13 year old girl and I’ve been teased about it my whole life. It’s nice to know I’m not alone in the world anymore.

I find that AC360 contains too much content that is not newsworthy for CNN’s primetime (8pm - 10pm?) evening timeslot. I think the ridiculist is kinda stupid (the underlying DeparDOO bit that caused AC’s adorable giggle fit). I also find the discussions between AC and the female anchor about “crazy” internet items too long and kinda forced. As Stephen Colbert demonstrated on his comedy show, any personality worth his salt can giggle uncontrollably over poop puns (some on the Colbert Report were actually funny). I think that kind of skit (ridiculist or capturing someone seized by the giggles) is more appropriate for a comedy show than the evening headliner for a news channel, but, hey, I’m sure ratings prove me wrong.

I bet you’re a lot of fun at parties, Don.

It wasn’t a “skit.” it was just an accidental fit during a live broadcast. Nothing planned or scripted about it. It wasn’t a bit. Your criticisms are nonsensical.

That was adorable!

This made me cry. You realize, on the second viewing, that he starts losing it because he knows what the final punchline is.
