Andre de Toth R.I.P.

A complete filmography is here. A great, underappreciated director who I met personally when he graduated to cranky old codger (nice, mind you, but took no crap from nobody). He made some terrific films, too few of which are known: his noirs like Crime Wave or Pitfall, his westerns like Day of the Outlaw and a number he made with Randolph Scott, war dramas like None Shall Escape. He was nominated for an Oscar for the story for The Gunfighter w/Gregory Peck and he did 2nd unit for the Kordas (The Thief of Bagdad, Jungle Book) and Lawrence of Arabia.

He married Veronica Lake and made the best 3D movie ever, despite having only 1 eye. A definite one-of-a-kind that doesn’t exist anymore in Hollywood. R.I.P.

Crap. :frowning: Can a mod fix the coding? Sorry about that.

Yep … gotcha covered. Thanks!
