Does this mean he’ll go against the top celebrities and actually have a chance at the million?
If not (or if he doesn’t win), does he still get to give the $68,000? Seems like Jeopardy will be giving out quite a lot of money over the Celebrity run.
I wish they had easier Jeopardy more often. I like knowing the [del]answers[/del]questions. It’s more like Who Wants to Be a Milionaire before the last few questions.
His charity definitely gets the $68,000. A different set of three celebrities will complete on the third Thursday of every month for nine months; that will produce nine champions who will compete in three semifinals in May, to produce three finalists. They will compete in a two-day finals, with the winner receiving $1,000,000 for his or her charity.
Buzz Aldrin has a PhD from MIT. I think I’ll forgive him a missed final jeopardy. (He would’ve won that if it was a regular game, the other two had no money at the end of double jeopardy.)
Regret to announce that Andy Richter will not compete in the semifinals as the tournament conflicts with his touring schedule with Conan O’Brien. Bet he is bummed. Isaac Mizrahi moves up into his place; he was the next-highest scorer.
May 3: Pat Sajak, Jane Curtin, Harry Shearer
May 4: Michael McKean, Charles Shaughnessy, Isaac Mizrahi
May 5: Neil Patrick Harris, Jane Kaczmarek, Cheech Marin
May 6-7: Winner of each day plays for two-day total.
Sajak’s not as dumb as he looks (he couldn’t be). But I didn’t know how bright Shaughnessy was (though of course the CelebJep questions are dumbed down).
Well, silenus, looks like we came out even on the bet. Sorry, after Shaughnessy dropped out I was rooting for Cheech, even though it would have cost me. But his mistake on Thursday really hurt. I couldn’t see Friday’s game because the damn Cleveland station decided to pre-empt almost all of it for weather reports, but I did see he was the only one to get FJ right, which is something. I also read that if Jane had bet nothing in FJ, she would have won the tournament. Oh well.
Yep. Cheech really blew it on Thursday, and he knew it. I thought both FJ answers were extremely easy. Really no excuse for anybody getting them wrong. Cheech just had a brain fart.
It was fun listening to Annette scream when Michael won.
Alex pointed out that Michael McKean has never lost in an appearance on Jeopardy, including one appearance on Rock & Roll Jeopardy. I was wondering if that’s true for anyone else. I think it’s true for Brad Rutter (who beat Ken Jennings in the Ultimate Tournament of Champions). Can you think of anyone else for whom it’s true?
