I bet “they” are the news media. Andy Rooney died yesterday.
As to why pix of Mickey Rooney are being shown, it appears a lot of folks in the media biz are clueless. Either that or our OP is clueless.
Aside from half-paying attention to CNN, and reading the CBS article in the other thread, I haven’t seen any other coverage. ‘They’ are probably a specific network or page.
