It’s…vexing. I’m really… terribly vexed.
But I loved it. Nothing like seeing WIlliam the bloody get props for his ‘effulgent’ poem.
More thoughts as brain becomes more coherant.

Oh sure, I get here just as the first post goes up, and you’ve already used my “effulgent” reference!
I was a bit skeptical about Angel’s plan and how useful it would be, and now I’ve done a 180 and absolutely love the very last scene.
Rock on. The Spike scene was awesome. I was pleasantly surprised with Lorne’s scene. Just… it was a fitting ending. It was a fitting ending. Why did it have to end?
Posted this in the other thread:
I like the ending. It leaves their fate up the individual viewer, especially if they never do any of the movies. The Wesley/Illyria scene had me choked up. Damn. I’ll miss the show.
Loved William’s perfect last day. I had no clue when he was ordering the drinks. All the perfect last days worked.
I feel sorry for Lorn (even though he is the only one who will survive). He was the non-warrior of the bunch. Killing Lindsy like that after he had helped the cause must have been bitter.
I even liked Conner!
Harmony’s betrayal was perfect. I love that she asked for a reference.
Everyone’s ending was perfect. Loved Gunn kicking ass like he used to. Loved Lorne shooting Lindsay. Even loved Angel’s dumb speeches. And Illyria: “I wish to do more violence”. And Spike: “Do I get to deny you three times?”
Damn. Damndamn. I want more.
On another note, it seems SuperNova, Otto, and I have duelling “Angel” threads going on. Perhaps a mod will see fit to merge them?
Why, oh why, did Lorne shoot Lindsey? Did Angel tell him to? He knew that Lindsey wasn’t coming for Eve…
I think Boreanaz is really hot, but I must say whatshisname (Lindsey) made my heart go pitter-patter with his sword play. He’s such a cool character, it’s a shame they shot him. I thought he was on the road to redemption, dammit. And he was never a strictly evil character. Why, oh why, did they kill him off? WHY NOT STUPID EVE?
Ahhh, Wesley died in the arms of his sweetie-pie.
Too bad Cordy couldn’t have somehow made a guest appearance. As a ghost, I don’t know! And the finale just wasn’t complete without the arch nemesis, Lilah. So many great female characters and we’re left with Illyria and stupid Eve.
Nice to see Conner. Wasn’t expecting that.
I was expecting Hamilton to raise himself from the dead.
So, they succeeded in killing the entire ring? They’re gooood.
Harmony betrayed Angel, but how can you hate her?
Not ONE mention of Buffy!
It’s official. Whedon has nothing on t.v. anymore. Yet “America’s Worst Singer” somehow gets the blessing of TPTB at WB. It boggles the mind.
I’m ALL fired up at 10:00 at night. I want to go do a roundhouse and kick someone’s ass. I guess I’ll just have to go have raucous sex with my husband instead. Sometimes it sucks living in the suburbs.
Thanks for all the post-episode threads, folks. See you on the other side. (I’m feeling dramatic.)
“Merge” them? Not really possible, I think, but still …
Fantastic. Really, really fantastic. I was on the edge of my seat with all the individual “hits.” This episode was put together so very well.
I admit though, that I too am vexed by the ending. But what can you do?
An amazing ending for a great show.
Yes, that was his mission. I love that they played on the whole “Lorne is useless” sentiment. I actually thought they were setting up Lindsay to be a new member of the crew, then BANG, BANG! Suddenly Lorne’s comments made a lot more sense. I think he also intimated that he’d seen that Lindsay could never be a good guy way back when he read him in Season 2 or so.
I’m sure someone will wander in shortly to tell us how sucky it was
I loved it. It ended very well. I didn’t really think about how I wanted things to end - that was perfect. I can’t think of anything I would change.
I enjoyed it. I liked the very end, watching the hoards of Hell coming to get them. I’m not sure which was my favorite part, though…“I wish to do more violence”, or “Come on, take your best shot.” Saw that second one coming, but it still worked out great.
I was also a little shocked to see Spike fighting with the baby…I figured he would have put it down first, but eh…whatever.
Poor Lorne, I feel sorry for him.
Anyone know what Joss’s next big adventure is (for television, I mean).
Sure it is. They do it all the time.
“You’re not even listening to me, are you? You stopped… years ago!”
“Sorry, but you do get breezy sometime. I got the cliff notes.”
Loved it. I wish it could have been this good forever, but I’m just glad it went out on such a high note.
I was, too, but then I thought, the last thing any of the Fell Brethern is going to do is accidentally kill their Messiah. I mean, before they’re supposed to, anyway.
