Angry illegal aliens who were deported ---under President Obama!

This. Lefties were not only all too aware of the deportations under Obama, but also were aware that (a) he’d stepped up the pace from what Dubya was doing, and (b) the apparent goal was to convince the Republicans in Congress that he was serious about enforcement so that they’d trust him enough to make a deal on immigration.

It didn’t work, of course. We were aware of the failure of Obama’s “negotiating with himself” (by moving to the hoped-for compromise position before negotiations with the GOP even started) starting with the stimulus negotiations.

There were some things that all the hopey-changey in the world couldn’t change, and that included pretty much all Republicans.

So getting back to the point, yeah, we knew what was going on under Obama. Still didn’t mean it couldn’t be made even worse. Congrats, Trump. :frowning:

But we already know lots of people hated having a black president who didn’t have people tortured.

Well, no. The author did not use really names, so they understood he need to respect privacy.

I’m not acting as a mod now, but malcontent suggests someone who is complaining merely to make trouble. You would be describing someone who was justifably unhappy. An aggrevied party would be a good adjective.

Also, I’m a woman not a man. It’s hard to tell over the internet.

Alright, aggrevied party. I am certain will find more info and one that does list real names (I said that writer was only similar to me a to a point).

When you get there, send us a postcard.

Moriaty, if you could the article title please?

Yes, but that was the.point I was making.

Good luck on your search…

Thanks!

Perhaps some Mexican newspapers made public names of aggrevied parties who had been deported during Jan. 21, 2009- Jan. 19, 2017.

It is not how long somebody has been gone (for whatever reason) from a certain situation that matters. It is how different things have gotten due to their departure. In other words if Obama had been replaced by Hilary Clinton and she continued just about all his policies it would have been pretty much like he was still in office though someone else had indeed replaced him. Had she won two terms then was replaced by a very, very similar acting democrat (who also got two terms) it would have been like Obama’s policies were continued (and he may as well have stayed in office for) 16 more years! Trump has been more different than Obama in just 16 months than two similar acting democrats may have been over the course of the next 16 years.

OK! I have to go now. But I will look at this board over the next few days when I get free time. Promise! Moriarty, if you mention the article by title I give you thanks ahead of time.

Um… I think anyone who knows me here knows my partner was detained and deported under Obama’s administration and we were quite upset about it. I still voted for him after that happened. And I voted for Hillary Clinton. And I would vote for her again. I would vote for Obama if I could.

I really have no idea what your point is though and your attitude makes me not really want to talk to you about my personal life after this post.

Here’s an article including a video of a named 10-year-old US-born child whose father was deported in 2013.

Wow, remember what it was like to have an (admittedly flawed and fallible) Administration that took seriously reasonable criticisms and pressure in response to policies that were considered too draconian, instead of a spittle-flecked huckster whose response to criticism is to throw lie-filled tantrums on Twitter?

I’m not Moriarty, but I think I can help you. Keep in mind, I’ve been wrong before. I found an article, was this the one?

So, for the rest of you folks, why are you humoring him?

When I want the dog to stop barking, I’ll kick the cat. An underappreciated strategy.

Little Neddy should do his own homework.

You really don’t understand “Democrats” if you assume they all think alike. That’s the core of your problem; you think Clinton would’ve been identical to Obama, and would’ve been “replaced by a very, very similar acting democrat”… Why would every Democrat have to match Obama’s actions exactly?

And where are you going to find an audience ill-informed enough to assume that all those dubious assumptions are “facts”? Unless… oh, my goodness, you actually believe this, don’t you? And are posting it on a message board whose goal is “Fighting Ignorance”? Gracious…

I don’t think you should share either. This whole thread sounds kinda creepy/cringe-y.

Instead of asking others to cherry pick your data why don’t you cherry pick it yourself?

Yes, deportations “went up” under Obama, but that was because the definition of “deportation” changed about the time Obama came into office.

Also, the Obama administration saw a huge increase of hiring for CPB–but from everything I’ve heard, that also could have led to an increase in corruption and generally a larger number of questionable people getting hired. If anything, that in itself could be a reasons for people in general (not just deportees) to be angry with CPB.

If Trump has done anything, it seems he’s made facile, simplistic, simple minded (or feeble-minded) thinking more acceptable.
