Anime fan thread

To elaborate, the show is so goofy and light hearted, that there is no way that I can take the “kiss her or the world will end” plot seriously.

Two more that I liked:
Chihayafuru
Canvas 2

Old anime, Samuri Jack, still watch it for the art. and now Samuri 7 art is good too, havent got the story line yet. Ghost in the shell, was what opened my eyes to anime. Now I see Casern Sins sp.
but I think this is also old anime. Out in the boondocks the TV don’t give us much in the new stuff, no satillite, no cable. WE do get the Bleach, dont understand the power thingie in the other threads, don’t play the game I guess. Enjoy the story and some of the art though, and enjoyment is the reason I watch it.

Azumanga Daioh is a light anime. No bad guys, nobody gets killed. Very relaxing and funny.

Lucky Star is almost the same way except with more weirdness and otaku stuff

That is why I like Host Club, not just for the fan service, hehe

Guilty pleasure for me too.
BTW the same woman who makes the voice of Haruhi Suzumiya, also does it for Konata in Lucky Star, the series are made by the same company and so it was fun to see an scene where Konata does a cosplay of Haruhi and her voice in the scene switches quickly depending if she was on “character” or not.

As mentioned above “Magica Madoka” is a must-see.

“Squid Girl” is cute and funny.

Recently, I loved “The Kids on the Slope”, about a group of young people playing jazz together in the mid-60’s. If you like jazz, do yourself a favor and watch this clip from the show. I think it’s one of the greatest musical moments in anime:

Right up there with Haruhi performing “God Knows”.

It gets even more meta. In one episode, Konata goes to a concert of her own voice actress!

I love Host Club! It’s obvious to pretty much everyone how badly Tamaki wants Haruhi for himself, yet he rationalizes away his feelings for most of the series by claiming he loves her in a fatherly way (never mind that he’s only a year or so older than her :))

ERMAGERD!
I just started Last Exile: Fam, the Silver Wing , which is basically season two of Last Exile and I am so into it. It is even better than the first part. Just as confusing mind you, but the action is much more intense and the animation is even better.

And if you have ever seen Last Exile, I am so happy Dio lived and is in this part too. Though I am a little confused as to why he doesn’t seem to have aged any? Hurm…

I know, he is such a dork. I still secretly wished the twins had gotten her, but that is the perverse side of me talking and we don’t let her out much

Space Battleship Yamato!

Dig that crraaaaaazzy Wave Motion Gun, dudes!
