Terribly sorry I don’t have the name of the book of which I have a question but they are very popular and I feel obligated to return them to the library as soon as possible. The question concerns Anita Blake’s car after a altercation in a cemetary. Anita and Larry are being chased by Humans First, elude them, then battle vampires including one young vampire on a bicycle. They wind up wrecking the car in a ditch.
Now the problem I don’t understand is that in the next chapter, after the wreck (33 IIRC,) Anita drives her car and then in the next chapter rents a car because hers was wrecked two chapters ago.
Ms. Hamilton probably didn’t think you’d notice that, what with all the characters getting nekkid and having sex for no reason in all the rest of the chapters.
Hamilton is well-known for continuity errors. I’ve quit reading her books, partly for that reason. I’ll be reading along, enjoying the story, and then WHAM! there’s something out of place, and I backtrack in the book to try to find out what I missed. With Hamilton, it’s usually HER fault, and I lose the flow of the story and get pissed off.
