That’s not much of a change (on her position). Unfortunate and sad, but, oh well.
And I wouldn’t doubt that she was MAGA.
My town in SoCal has many Asian immigrants, and it is not uncommon to see women driving their cars wearing these full-face sun shields (we refer to them as welding masks).

Not that I’m a celebrity follower but if you had asked me before seeing this thread, I would have guessed her for long dead.

Not publicly, as far as I can tell. It sounds like she hadn’t been particularly visible in the public spotlight since around 2000 (which is about when the last of her several concert venues closed).
Given that she was a life-long conservative Christian, it would not particualrly surprise me if she supported Trump, but I’m not easily finding any evidence that she publicly endorsed him, made any appearances for him, etc.
One of my coworkers repeated her claims about gay people only five years ago and I naturally jumped in with an argument. Her blurtings were astounding and completely startling. ‘Wait, what’d you say?!’

This is an Asian custom, but it may not be an issue of female beauty standards.
I live in the almost perpetual sunshine of the Middle East. Many of the agricultural workers here are migrants from Thailand, almost all male. They all wear woolen, balaclava-style ski masks covering their entire face, despite working (and sweating!) in 100-degree heat.
Apparently, in Thailand there is a very deep social stigma against having darkened skin, because it marks you as lower class.
