I use AOL (I know, I know, get a real ISP) and it seems like every time I’m reading a long thread, or typing up a post, I get logged off due to inactivity. First I’ll get the little annoying ‘Do you want to stay online?’ pop-up message, I’ll press 'Yes" and then 2 minutes later I’m logged off. This seems to be happening ever since the upgrade Monday. Is this happening to anyone else? Anyone know how I can stop it? I’m afraid to make this post any longer, because I might get booted, and then have to type over.
ARG!

I had the same problem. Manipulating the window position fixes it. I just jiggle it up and down once.
Thanks Birdman, I’ll have to try that

I’m sure that we’ve covered this subject before, but I couldn’t find the relevant thread. I remember one suggestion, which apparently works, is to open real audio and start a radio station, which you can of course mute if you don’t want to hear it.
There are several specific software programs too, such as ‘Stay Connected’ and ‘Close Those Pop-Ups’.
But a disclaimer, I’ve no idea how well these programs work, or any posssible ramifications of installing them, nor how much they cost!
Another way to keep the AOL connection open is to open a chat–just start a private chat with only yourself in it. The chat room keeps the connection live and may keep you from getting kicked off.
Thanks guys… I’ll try them out and see which one works best.
