Since it appears that no country would claim the body, and the U.S. didn’t want his burial site to become a shrine, why didn’t they bury his body somewhere in the middle of a large or heavily guarded military base, such as Camp Pendleton or Fort Knox?
Somebody would have thrown a shitfit. And it’s much easier to say a few prayers, put him in a sheet and drop him in the ocean than it is to ferry his corpse back to the U.S., bury him, and then maybe guard the spot.
Well, if they’re not going to use Yucca Mountain for its designed purpose…
That would deprive me of the quiet satisfaction of knowing that he is being turned into fish shit.
I can’t imagine any military commander in any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces would care to have Bin Laden buried on one their bases. Why would anyone go through the trouble of burying him at a base when throwing him in the ocean is so much easier?
They were going to do that, but Lindsey Graham was afraid that if he made it to American soil, he might come back to life, burst out of the vault in Yucca Mountain and destroy America.
