Another bit of spyware!

That I can’t get rid of. It adds a lot of folders (containing crap) to my favourites menu, its not detected by Spy-bot and it adds some programmes to my “add/remove programmes menu” that keep coming back when I remove them. Those programmes are; BMSE dbl, IEC system, SE assistant, SE help, Search Function, Sidebar Search,
It seems to turn to a search page if a website has difficulty opening, which is a bummer.
Any ideas/help?

Do you have the current version of SpyBot and Ad-Aware? Between the two of them there’s very few things they can’t get rid of.

Norton AV also finds quite a few.

If you’re having trouble getting rid of them, you may have to boot into safe mode and run AdAware/SpyBot/Norton AV. What version of Windows are you running?

Windows XP and last I checked, there were no updates for the Spybot I am running. I’ll try Ad-aware too if you think its worth a try :slight_smile:

You can get an uninstaller specifically for i-lookup. Though using Ad-Aware is a good idea as well.

I second Athena’s recommendation of Ad Aware. It is highly effective, in my experience … and it’s free! :slight_smile:
