Another book (or four) in the "Memory, Sorrow & Thorn" world of Osten Ard

The Heart of What Was Lost, by Tad Williams. Anybody else read it yet? It’s a short novel which takes place right after the events of To Green Angel Tower, and focuses on the fate of the Norns at the hands of the Rimmersmen and other soldiers of King Seoman. I found it quite interesting, as a lot of it was presented from the viewpoint of the Norns.

I also found it interesting in that the new novel heralds a whole new trilogy coming our way, The Last King of Osten Ard. Release date seems to be late 2017, for the first volume, The Witchwood Crown.

My enjoyment of the new novel, and my anticipation of the new trilogy has led me to pick up The Dragonbone Chair for the first time in a few decades. Seems I forgot a lot. It’s good to revisit an old favorite.

I had heard this was coming. I shall have to dig out my copies and re-read. It had been a good, long while. I am looking forward to new books.

I’m off to Amazon to download the new one.

Huh, I’ll have to check that out.

I only hope I remember enough from the original series to understand what’s going on.

About all you need to remember for this short novel is that the Norns lost the last war, and humans are still pretty pissed at them.

Okay then, I’ve still got that much.

I just finished re-reading the original trilogy a couple of weeks ago and it holds up better than I expected. I was in high school when I first read them, and I’m basically a different person now, but I still loved them. First book gets off to a bit of a slow start, but once it gets rolling, I still couldn’t put it down, even knowing what happens. Can’t wait to check out the new ones.
