Aww. She’s a pretty little thing!
What a sweet looking kitty. Going by the background, she’s living in a proper book filled home
Beautiful! That’s some crop of whiskers!
Tip of the iceberg, my friend.

I inherited my grandma’s cat who is now 13-14 yrs old. When he was 2yrs old, he fell 30ft off her rear deck and landed on the concrete patio below, but not on his feet. He landed on his hip/tailbone and actually broke his back. My mom rushed him to the nearest vet’s office, but the bastard coldly told her that he should be euthanized, without even examining him! My mom told him money was no object but he still refused to offer any treatment.
My mom refused and called another vet’s office located another 30 minutes away. That vet told her that it would be VERY expensive to even run the tests to see if there might be a surgical option ($1000+). But he was kind enough to recommend a veterinarian who had just started a mobile practice (RV converted into a vet’s office) and would be much cheaper and she could offer more flexibility and routine follow-up care if he could be saved.
Long story short, she was able to save him. My mom kept him immobilized in her garden tub for a month while he healed.
About five years ago, he stopped eating and could hardly move. I took him to my vet and the way his spine/back bone healed was now causing pressure on his spinal cord. For the past five years, I’ve had to take him in for a steroid shot every 4-5 weeks. The day after his shot, he’s good as new…
Perhaps if ‘Kitty’ has some sort of muscular or bone injury, it might be treatable with something as simple as a steroid injection? My vet is awesome and only charges $15 per visit, but I’m sure most charge more. In any case, I thought it was worth mentioning.
Good luck!
When I die, can I come back as your cat?

Shayna ;
We took her for her first vet visit yesterday, which she of course hated. Despite what the neighbor told us, she has had zero vaccinations (at least since kitty shots), so she got a double dose of that, plus a worming pill, plus a topical flea/tick application. Basically, it looks like she may have some joint issues, but it’s really hard to tell what’s going on. The vet felt ‘clicks’ in the elbow joints. Q’itih was very quiet and compliant until the vet started manipulating the sore leg, but once the joint popped, she was fine. Sounds to me like a dislocation issue, which is what I thought to begin with.
She’s a little lethargic today from the shots, but I think she’ll bounce back no problem. The vet recommended wet food, but she doesn’t tolerate it very well. We’ll see how it goes. She does the scarf and barf thing, so we have to monitor how much food she gets at one time. I’ll see about posting pics this PM.
I’m glad things are progressing well, and SQUEEEEEE!! She’s beautiful. Congratulations.
Any new updates?
Pretty cat!
One of my cats intermittently dislocates her knee (it’s called something different on a cat, but it’s the higher joint in the back leg). She limps a bit and it goes back.
Vet examining her said she might need orthopedic surgery for this issue. But the surgeon evaluated her and said - she may in the future, but she doesn’t yet need surgery.
We’re giving her a bit of glucosamine supplement in her breakfast to help keep her cartilage healthy. I have read that the problem with the easily dislocated knee on cats is that the frequency of dislocation can wear away cartilage and eventually make the joint painful.
She’s adjusting well to indoor life, but does a lot of wistful gazing out the windows. She hated being out on a long line tied to her harness. Escaped once, but she doesn’t go far. I ordered another type of harness, the Kitty Holster. We’ll see how that works out.
