Another Cheap Hydrogen Announcement

This time from the University of Nevada, Reno.

This novel method can split water to produce hydrogen energy in a more efficient manner than what is available currently in the marketplace. The fabrication and production of these nanotubes are accomplished by an inexpensive electrochemical method. University scientists are capable of adding different tubular materials to increase the water-splitting efficiency and are able to use most parts of the solar light.

So it looks like we might be getting a “threefer” out of the deal: 1.) Inexpensive nanotube production. 2.) Cheap hydrogen production. 3.) Improved hydrogen production. Now if we can just get someone to put it in a car.

Pretty cool. I keep hoping that a hydrogen car will come out before I buy my next car. I’m doubting it, but I’m hoping (I am guessing I have 5 years left on this car…)
