I don’t know, that dog was attacking the officer with non-stop kisses…
I do wonder if cops get training on how to handle situations involving dogs. Do dogs get the same “don’t shoot them on their back” treatment?
I once had to do a necropsy on a dog that was killed by a cop. I was expecting the bullet entry to be on the front part of the animal, perhaps her side.
Instead, the entry wound was on the back of the animal, and very clearly went from upper back to lower front, from the abdomen to the thorax and lungs. I wish I had more information as to what occurred or was alleged to occur at the scene, because with what I had, it was clearly the animal had been shot and didn’t seem to be in self-defense.
I do not know how that case worked out, either. Usually animal abuse cases settle out of court, to my relief.
