For the last 15 years I’ve consistently had a particular type of dream - and I don’t understand them at all.
In these dreams, I’m either hanging out in the smaller town I lived in for 20 years, or at the university I graduated from, or at two houses I used to live in with my ex, or in a big city I used to live in a long time ago right after college. I’m going about the usual activities - shopping, wanderng around town on foot, going for runs, at work, bike rides, going to classes or the dorms, visiting the ex, etc…
The weird thing is, in the dreams, these places NEVER reflect the reality of the places. There are a few scattered similarities, but the differences are obvious. And to make matters more confusing, these “fictitious” places are always the SAME inside of my dreams. It’s like my mind has constructed it’s own representation of these places that I’m intimately familiar with, and it choses to use them instead of images of the real places. And whenever I have these dreams, the fictitious representations are very consistently the same. Not necessarily better or worse than the real places, but different - and always the same in the dreams.
Send the guys in the white coats, I guess. Any opinions?
Thanks…
