Another drug question

If I recall correctly, while I am in another country, I am subject to their laws.

So I take a European vacation, and while I’m in Amsterdam, I smoke weed. I then go home, and then get a random drug test. I’ll test positive, but could I be fired for testing positive?

How about I take a trip to Amsterdam every month. Could I ever be fired for testing positive?

A WAG here:

Yes, you could be fired… the point of a drug test is not where you did the drugs, but if you did the drugs… at least as I see it. (WOULD you be fired? Probably, as “I was in Amsterdam!” could easily turn into an excuse that everyone could use…)

Keep in mind that my guess here is fueled by my opinion of the “war against drugs” which can best be summed up by this:

Let me know when you’re going to Amsterdam… I’ll join ya!

Could you get arrested, convicted, and thrown in jail? Probably not.

Could you be fired for clearly violating the terms of employment which you agreed to upon accepting the job? To a sober mind, the answer seems clear: Duh.

This question has several unanswered variables & even then, it seems almost borderline as to why it would be asked.

So they call it weed now? Well, you can smoke weed legally in some areas of the US, no need to visit Needle Park.

You blood don’t know what country you smoked it in.
