Another Election Night What-If'er

Although a lot of the talk ias about popular vs. electoral scenarios, there is another interesting unrelated possibility.

Senate ends up split 50-50 after Tuesday with Lieberman winning re-election in Connecticut. However, Gore also wins the Presidency forcing Lieberman to resign as Senator. The GOP Governor of CT puts Republican in Lieberman’s spot and the Senate is now 51-49 in favor of the GOP.

What will we all do with our time after Tuesday, anyway?

My magic eight-ball tells me that Attorney General Richard Blumenthal is slated for the position in case of that eventuality.

He is a Republican.

Personally, I intend to spend most of it trying to figure out what the General Question is.

Well, Lieberman would have to decide which is more important to him, maintaining half the senate or giving up the majority to be VP. He could do either.

I predict that Bush will win, without the help of NY or CA.
