What the fuck is WRONG with these people? What a stupid, stupid bitch!
We have to start making it a felony to leave a child in a car for any length of time for any reason and we have to start making some fucking EXAMPLES of morons like this.
We make it a felony to leave a baby in the car, and if the baby dies, it’s felony murder. Fuck, this shit pisses me off.
If I EVER see a baby alone in a car, I’m going to smash the fucking window and get it out, then I’m going to call the fucking cops…and god help anybody that I catch in the act. This shit has got to stop.
I can’t find cites to the local stories, but just in the last couple of weeks, we’ve had three cases of parents and care-givers “forgetting” babies and toddlers in cars during 100+ degree weather and the children dying as a result just in my area.
And people wonder why I think there should be a licence required to have kids…one that can be revoked on the spot. You do not “forget” your damn kid in a car during a southwest summer, you abandon it to die. Fuck me…even the local Humane Society is running spots during the local news about how quickly heatstroke can kill pets, does it take that much of an intellectual stretch to realize your kids are at the same risk?
The kicker for me is that the woman “seemed distraught”. I should hope so. I agree with Diogenes that moronic stupidity of this nature needs to be very publically punished. This kind of thing is murder, negligent homicide at best. I wouldn’t feel the least bit of sympathy for this woman if she was locked up…I’m saving mine for the dead child.

At some point you have to wonder…are these ‘accidents’ that deserve sceptical quotes? Are these people, on at least some level, deliberately endangering their children?
Y’know, it seems like it would be a good idea if some of these store like Target or Wal-Mart would get someone to walk around the parking lot making sure there were no kids (or pets) left in cars. And put up signs to that effect.
The signs should also warn that the store will call the police if any young children or infants are left in a car and store security will use any means necessary to facillitate the rescue of such children.
Same here, and I agree with your and Arky’s posts about the signs. Trouble is, they’d lock my ass up, 'cause I would feel it incumbent upon me to kick the shit out of said “negligent” parent.
We have too many abused kids come into our hospital. There is no excuse for this shit.

I have never understood this kind of insanity, or outright idiocy. I once had to explain to a young mother in my neighborhood why she should never leave her infant alone in the house when she went shopping.
Unfortunately, no.
The latest word on the 6:00 AM news was that the two-month old infant had been dead six hours or more. So this woman either spent seven hours in the K-Mart or she had been driving around with a dead baby in the car for several hours.
People like this clearly do NOT deserve to be parents! Christ! When will people EVER learn?!
Someone on my block, in a new & affluent neighborhood, came home from work and decided to leave her kids in the car because they were sleeping and she didn’t want to wake them. It was a Grand Am, in her driveway and around 4.30 pm EDT. The high was around the low 90’s that day, it usually peaks around 3 pm-4pm.
According to her, for the safety of the kids (15 months and three years old) she opened the two front windows about 3 inches a piece. The sun was high enough to still shine onto and into the car.

I said that to myself repeatedly as I questioned her. I was sweating talking to her. When her genius husband shows up from inside (he’s an account manager working out of his home) he defended his wife, saying “It’s not that hot out”.
Trust me…somewhere along the line, these two fucktards should have eliminated themselves from society -from the gene pool- before their reproductive years. But our society is set up to safe guard idiots from killing themselves via their own stupidity in many ways…so they survived to child bearing years. Now, although they should have been gobbled up as the slow runners, here they are terrorizing their kids with their stupidity.
Ya know, I just got back from my vacation with mom and dad. We were talking about one of my aunts. She’s really, really stupid.
I mean stupid with a capital S. She makes stupid people look smart. And I’m not talking about having a low IQ. I’m talking about not having the sense that God gave a rock.
This woman (whom I’m realted to only by marriage, thankyouverymuch) has said, on multiple occasions, that when it was hot out, and her daughter (my cousin) was an infant, and would get fussy, Stupid-Head Aunt would PUT HER IN THE CAR for 1/2 an hour or so because it would calm her right down and make her sleep for hours?!?!?!
Praise the Lord Baby Jesus that my cousin has actually made it to adult hood, and doesn’t apper to have suffered any sort of lasting effects.
