Cancelling school because of a hoax threat is essentially putting power in the hands of lazy idiots, who thought they wouldn’t have to take a test if they started a scare. Make them take the test, that they are obviously woefully unprepared for, and then haul them away in handcuffs.

There’s no reason we can’t do that after we’ve ensured the safety of everyone else by keeping them away from the threatened site until the threat is confirmed to be a hoax.
Hoaxers (at least ones who make reasonably credible threats) should be deterred by catching and punishing them, not by “tough-guy” exhibitions of calling their bluff that potentially put innocent people at risk.
