Another goof from "Jeopardy"

On tonight’s episode, there was a question pertaining to what system gopher was used with in the 1960s. (The category was “Gopher Broke”)

The answer they were looking for was “The Internet.” In 1960? Bzzzt! ARPANET didn’t even happen until 1969, and gopher was even later - released in 1991.

Normally, Jeopardy is much better with their research.

I don’t remember the exact phrasing of the clue, but I think the implication was that the internet could be traced back to the 60s, not that Gopher was necessarily that old.

Moving this to MPSIMS.
