Another Mass Shooting: Wisconsin Mall Edition

Looks like a new mass shooting has taken place in a Wisconsin mall. Perhaps not so mundane, but really no where else to put it.

sigh

So sad :frowning: According to the story no one has been critically wounded. That’s good at least.

Sadly, this story will also pass.
You could have nutcases shooting up Kindergartens full of kids, every day, 365 days a year, and there would still be no change in gun laws here.
There will always be the gun fanatics explaining in great depth, and in multiple posts, and from people crawling out of the woodwork, that guns are not the problem.

Earlier reports included 3 dead.

Local news now reporting the shooter has been found dead.

Don’t know if that means 3 total or 3 plus shooter.

4 dead, including the shooter.

This is less than half a mile from a Sheraton hotel where there was a shooting in 2005. That shooting killed 7 people plus the killer shot himself.

Does it matter, though? He also had a bomb. Bombs are illegal, but he had one. Would a change in gun laws here really prevent this?

How many people were killed by the bomb?

I am about as far from being a gun fanatic as you can get. And still, I don’t see this as a gun problem, I see it as a crazy asshole problem.

And maybe a mental health problem. I still don’t see people getting the mental health help they need. People who go to shrinks are still classed as “crazy”. There still isn’t enough support for it, nor is it commonly available, nor is it affordable, nor is it cheap.

Very true!

Is it even possible for a person to get help anonymously? I wouldn’t be surprised to find people avoiding treatment out of fear (justified or not) of their employer, etc. finding out.
