Heard on the new this AM that a McDonalds worker in Toledo threw a cup of coffee on a customer in the drive through. I see another law suit on the horizon.
Hey UncleBeer this is your hometown, was it you that got hot and wet…???

I read somewhere (hopefully not here, brain close to full so memory no good) about a robber who would enter a Dunkin Donuts, order a large coffee w/ cream and sugar, then when the cashier had the cash drawer open, would throw the hot coffee at the cashier and rob the drawer while the startled cashier screamed.
It’s a sick world I tell you. Sugar in coffee. Harumph!
Oh wait, here it is.
Another McDonalds coffee thread! I love these!
So did you guys hear about the lady who got paid $1 million for spilling coffee on herself?
[pezpunk runs away]
I’m in Toledo here too, and just read this article at lunch. The worker and customers got nasty over not being able to understand each other over the intercom ::gasp!:: At the window, the argument continued, the worker quit, and then threw the coffee into the car at the driver. Unfortunately, the driver leaned back, and the hot drink splashed over the passenger and his one year old son, who was on his lap. (put your kids in car seats people!) We’re talking 2nd degree burns on a baby here. Sick.
bella
Sorry to hear bout the kid. That’s really awful.
Drive thru food fights do sound like fun tho. I guess one could arm oneself from home, drive up to the window and have a good time with the person at the window. Nah…people behind would just start honking before it got going good.
reason number 26 of why I don’t do “drive thrus”.
Toledo Blade story.
That twarn’t me; I don’t eat that shit. And I only get hot & wet in the shower these days.
Well, bullshit. That link don’t work. If ya wanna read the Toledo Blade article, go to http://www.toledoblade.com (oddly enough), click “More Local News,” just under the “Attack on America” stuff, and search that page for “coffee.”

Man, I remember all the times I wanted to throw people’s coffee on them…I never had the balls though…that’s probably the best thing for evryone…
We’re talking more than just a lawsuit. We are talking jail time for the jerk who threw the hot coffee. What he did constitutes an assault and battery. I don’t know if McDonald’s can be held liable for its employees actions or not, but I certainly hope that the family in the car at least files a personal injury lawsuit against the dumbass kid behind the counter.
Leaning back out of the way and letting the coffee hit the baby was pretty cowardly, wasn’t it?
My first thought, too, but it is pretty much instinctive to duck/dodge an attack. I’ll let the guy in the car slide on this one.
There’s two sides to every story, but I bet the girl is wishing she could take back that coffee. Inflicting second degree burns on a one year old child because she couldn’t control her temper is something she will have to live with for the rest of her life.
I wish people could control their tempers better. Maybe this should be a compulsory subject at school.
Since vB is mangling that URL, here it is unparsed-- just cut & paste it into your browser:

My only comment is this–How long before they print new warnings on the cups?
. . . and the McDonald’s store manager “was unsure of Ms Galliard’s job status.” :rolleyes
I am not sure if this is a hijack, or if I have the link right. . . It seems as though you take your life into your hands at fast food shops.
What is this, a junk-food franchise conspiracy?
The link to the Krispy Kreme story. If anyone has trouble, the full URL is:

Can’t really blame the Subway employee tho. I mean, the least the guy coulda done is put the peppers on a napkin and handed em back to her so they could be used on another sandwich. And really, have you ever heard or seen a Subway commercial that says you can have it your way? Plus the poor thing was probably the one that was gonna have to clean that mess off the floor. Geez…some people are just so inconsiderate!
