Another musical coincidence, or am I going crazy?

Sometimes late at night or early in the morning (11 pm to about 8 am) I’ll start to hear a song. And at first it’ll be faint. Then it will get steadily louder until I swear someone’s alarm is going off in the form of a song I know.

Most often the only way I can tell it isn’t an actual song playing is that I will forget the words after the second verse or something, but I’ve gone through entire songs and just . . . thought the radio was playing. From Simon and Garfunkel to John Denver, then to Queen and on like that.

Please, someone tlel me I’m not prematurely going crazy so I hear voices!

nothing wrong with that (i hope, since it happens to me)
once, i had an annoying song stuck in my head and i just lay in bed “singing” it to myself in my head over and over and over. eventually, it was like i could almost hear it. so i kept singing it my head and eventually, it was as if i was actually hearing the song at (almost) full volume. i thought that was kinda cool at the time, and i think sleep deprivation had a lot to do w/ it.

Well, the same thing happens to me all the time, and I think we’re both crazy

I do it all the time at work.
I have to wear ear plugs at work, and most of the time I am at a part of the line where there isn’t anyone to talk to to keep my mind occupied.
So, I will start with one song, and then it will run into another.
It’s really rather cool when the songs kind of go together. Like a little mix and match.

One of the fun games I like to play when driving long distances is to start one song, and then stop at a random point in the song.

Then take the last three notes of the song, and sing those notes over and over, until they remind you of a new song.

Half the time, I have no idea what I’m singing, just that I’ve heard it before.

OK, and I’m crazy too. But it beats falling asleep at the wheel. Which reminds me of this song I heard…
