This one might be easy. I’ll describe to the best of my knowledge.
-Late 60s to 70s.
-Very gentle track.
-99% sure it’s instrumental.
-Sounds like it might be a theme to a TV show or movie.
-The sound/feel is somewhere between “Pick up the Pieces” by Average White Band and “Feels so Good” by Chuck Mangione.
-It’s brass/sax carrying the main melody with a little piano hook.
-The chord progression is Dmaj7 to Gmaj7 or that same interval in a different key. I think that’s the melody throughout the whole song.
No however that track rules. The song I’m thinking of isn’t as kitschy/cartoon-ish as Herb Alpert, it has a slightly jazzy feel and is simple and mellow.
No, again simpler and more mellow though the chords are in the ballpark. Definitely not that much singing if there happens to be vocals on the track stuck in my head.
Not it though again, cool tune. The song is less funky/dance and more easy listening jazzy. It isn’t anything obscure, has to be decently well known as I heard it on the local oldies/classic hits station.
