Another one of neptune_1984's...what does this song mean? question

I seem to have a lot of these because when it comes to meanings of songs, I’m just stupid. Anywho, the song in question today is Tragic Kingdom by No Doubt. What is this song supposed to mean? Is it supposed to symbolize something? I’ve looked over the lyrics, and cannot think of what it could mean. I mean, I have a million ideas, but none of them good.

No Doubt is from Anaheim, California. Same city as Disneyland’s Magic Kingdom. So maybe it’s about the weird juxtaposition of Real Life (the Tragic Kingdom, if you will) with the artificial reality just a few miles down the road from the band.

YMMV

Good answer on “Tragic Kingdom,” rastahomie. I’d say you nailed it. But that was an easy one, you have to admit. As far as ironic parodies in song titles, I’ve always wanted to write a song titled “Strangler in Paradise.”

As for entries in the what-is-this-song-about sweepstakes, I never got an answer to the question I posted some time ago about “The Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys” by Stevie Winwood & Traffic. Although it was one of my favorite songs back in college (thanks to the jazzy piano jam), I never knew what the heck it was about. Doesn’t anyone have any idea?
