Another Question RE: Another Warning.

IIRC the ruling was that it wasn’t to be mentioned outside the Paterno thread. The ruling has only been sporadically enforced though, likely leading to more confusion as to when and where it’s allowed.

The reason for the ruling was that since I’d been ordered not to make Paterno related comments outside the Paterno thread it wasn’t kosher to allow other posters to take digs at me that I was prohibited from responding to. It was also intended to contain the Paterno - Sandusky issue in one thread to keep people from being confronted with it all over the board.

No, you see, there’s a difference between someone who just cracks jokes and someone mod Warned for trolling doing the exact same thing again to the mod in question–daring him to moderate while hoping he’d be too worried to actually punish you for it.

You pretty much were asking to be Warned, if not have your posting privileges be removed. I just obliged by reporting you.

Is “butthurt” a banned word? I put it in quotes in case it is. I’m fairly certain there are no banned words, just usages of words that will get you in trouble. GrandWino merely referred to himself as not being such.

Thinking back, could this word be an urban legend focussed on Colibri?

Way back, circa 1975, I was into ice skating. One fine day, while attempting a semblance of some kind of simple jump, my feet flew out from under me and I landed smack on my tailbone.

Do you know how fucking granite-hard ice is? That was butthurt.

My wife called me a “pain in the ass” once. I wonder if your experience with the ice was similar?

Yeah, I think GrandWino needs to just curl up with a good book. I reccomend something by George R.R. Martin.

I had no idea what all the fuss was about. Just wondering if the Mod who issues the warning could possibly include note about “previous reference” or such so that we are aware there is background?

I don’t think a reference to the actual thread is required, and I understand the Mods have plenty on their plates anyway, so I can understand if the answer is “no way”.

As snark goes thats really rather forced. It doesn’t flow from the post you quoted at all, and so ends up being really obvious as a dig at another poster.

More subtlety is needed. I suggest next time you hide it among a few other sentences that at least try to address the topic of the thread, because left out on its own like that just left it exposed to a scrutiny it could not handle.

I think this has run its course.
