Anti-atheism email

I got an email entitled ‘This is about the BEST email I have EVER recieved!!!’

It’s about patriotism, which ain’t so bad, until I come across this little gem:

FUCK YOU!

You sayin’ that I should leave because I don’t believe in god, and because people who share the same belief as me are trying to get creationist nonsense removed from schools and back in churches? That what you’re sayin’?

FUCK YOU!

If there was a hell, I’d tell you you to go to it, fuckwad!

If you’re really so patriotic, you would be embracing us and accepting our beliefs and accepting our opposition to theism in schools. NOT telling us to get out! That’s what America is about!!! Freedom of/from religion! Just because it doesn’t SAY freedom from religion doesn’t mean we don’t have it!

FUCK YOU!!!

No doubt that email is offensive, but you’re playing right in to their hands here.

I’m annoyed by the fact that we have so much theist bullshit floating around in the government and in the education system, and I’m a theist! I just happen to believe that everyone should have access to the facts according to logic and be allowed to make their own decisions about beliefs that have as much or as little to do with those as they like.

I hate those fucking “we’re so persecuted! really!” Christian types who do their best to make everyone else’s life a little more ignorant and a little less free while they play the whole martyr act.

No offense to you Christians who just try to live your lives according to the words of Jesus- I think true Christians are more common than we think, it’s just that by the nature of Jesus’ teachings, those who simply try to live their lives in a holy but non self-righteous way are going to be a lot quieter than these fucksticks. It’s a shame that all of you get painted like them because of it.

Anyway, the idea of “freedom from religion” is exactly the kind of thing that gives them strength to keep coming. If you’d said “idealogical freedom” then I would’ve agreed with you wholeheartedly, but I don’t believe that any set of ideas, certainly not any so massively broad as “religion” should be cast aside so completely or that you have the right not to be exposed to them.

You have the right to BELIEVE and SAY whatever you want. It is not exclusive to people that agree with you, which means that they have that same freedom. You don’t have to believe what they say, you don’t have to support them with your money or your votes, but as long as they care to do so they can believe and declare whatever beliefs they have, no matter how stupid they seem to you.

Furthermore, prayer is and should be allowed in public schools. Public schools simply no longer LEAD prayers, which is right. It would be wrong, however, if one group of students (the religious ones) were told that they could not exercise their religious freedom in school, especially with something as harmless as a prayer or a strongly held belief.

I have formulated a theorm. I know religious nutjobs. I know atheist nutjobs. I know religious non-nutjobs. I am (I hope) a non-religious non-nutjob. Therefore, I posit that religion has no effect on one’s nutjob factor.

Wow, tomndebb, that was incredible. I think I will use that.

“His birth, death and resurrection” ?

As I understand it, references to “Jesus” are pretty rare in official American material of any kind, so why not just let God be God? Bringing in Jesus for no reason is just a damn waste of time.

Meantime, I’m a stone-cold Atheist.

I’d be interested in going to Staples and seeing how much a “Trust in yourself! www.godoffmoney.com” self-inking stamp costs.
