Oops. Sorry. My bad. The article said, “By 2002, that figure had plummeted to 1.8 percent.” “That figure” referring to cases that went to trial. So I should have said, "98.2% did not go to trial. Usually I try to be pretty careful when I post, and that time fucked it up, not once, but twice. :smack:
No: it’s not a lie to say the majority of custody cases are settled without a trial. The majority of all legal cases are settled without a trial.
It’s a lie to assert that that distinguishes custody cases from other legal cases; or to assert that because a case was settled, that makes the resulting settlement fair.
Just so I understand: you’re saying if I start a thread, and a bunch of people respond with personal attacks (or “snark”, to use your word) you’ll reward them by closing the tread, and punish me for their bad behavior?
