Anti-Sodomy Laws are Tyranny!

Approximately 20 states still have laws which criminalize some forms of private sexual intimacy, some only between members of the same sex. These laws hurt people, and hurt them seriously. Among other things, they hurt people in parenting cases, where they are used as a reason to deny custody or keep gay men and lesbians from becoming parents, and they hurt people through “sting” operations in which police departments set up special squads whose purpose is to entrap gay men.

Denying homosexuals their right to their orderly pursuit of happiness is tyranny and must be put to an end. In some areas, landlords have the right to evict gay couples just on the grounds of sodomy. America must move out of its bigoted past and tolerate alternate lifestyles.

Boy…you are all over the spectrum aren’t you? You aren’t going to find many here who will debate this issue with you.

Umm what exactly is your trip?

Well, hey - At least I can agree with you in one out of three threads ( so far ).

That’s probably a better ratio than I have with a few other posters :D.

So…you want a nuclear-aggressive, imperialist China (re:Tibet), that embraces homosexuality (referring to his other posts, folks). If China nukes the USA and continues to dominate Tibet, then doesn’t that kinda smush San Francisco for both economic and spiritual reasons? I suggest that China could nuke Rhode Island and promote homosexuality in Tibet to achieve your goals.

Or…uh…Jiang, I think the SDMB discourages drug use while posting.

Dare I ask this: What’s the PRC’s law about homosexual relations and/or same-sex marriages, Jiang?

Yeah, no debate from me on this one.

You have an interesting style Jiang. You seem to have no interest in what others might think, and instead offer dogmatic pronouncements about the Way Things Are (or Should Be). Perhaps a slightly more human approach might include some reasons why you believe what you do, and actually asking whether others share your convictions…maybe to open UP the debate rather than effectively closing it with your opening post.

I dunno…just a thought.

Oh, and welcome to the boards and all of that.

Monty: What the laws are in the PRC is irrelevant to the issue at hand. Chinese society is less tolerant of homosexuals and integrating them will take some time. Meanwhile, we must make sure some vital members of our society are not oppressed.

kambuckta: Agree with me, eh?

And that is why homosexuals need nukes. Maybe 1,000 of them. They will not be bullied.

Fully copying part of a webpage without naming the source does not consitute debating.
