Haha! I lol’d.
You’re so mean!
Damn I don’t want to ruin the math but it puts it closer to my average of 5.
I’m guessing. I clear out cookies fairly regularly so I don’t have my stats.
I, too, read “righteous indignation”. I don’t call things I find casually amusing “a scam”.
Anyway, I’ve been enjoying wordle. I distinguish between hard words (that I have to think a long time to come up with) and easy words (that I get fairly quickly). I’m not sure the hard words take me more (or fewer) guesses than the easy ones, honestly. I was very good at mastermind as a kid, and find this harder, mostly because I often can’t think of valid words with the characteristics I want. (I don’t play hard mode, characteristics I want are often things like “use at least 2 new letter”.)
I also enjoy playing “Settlers of Catan” on my phone, even though that is mostly luck.

Wordle Unlimited Practice Game | WordPlay
Woot, that was a fun word. Thanks.
I took you up on this, and played 12 trials, attempting to get as many grey boxes as possible. So that I could quickly play 12 games, I used the wordle unlimited site, which lets you play as many games as you want.
In only one of the 12 trials did I manage 100% grey boxes, but I “lost” every trial and averaged nearly 27 grey boxes (out of a perfect score of 30 boxes). To be more precise, I averaged 26.83 grey boxes, 1.92 yellow boxes, and 1.25 green boxes.
In scoring terms, if we assign a value of 2 points for each grey box, 1 point for each yellow box, and 0 points for each green box, a perfect score would be 60 (30 grey boxes x 2 pts each). My average score over 12 trials was 55.58.
I think this pretty conclusively proves that you won’t randomly guess the word in about 4 turns if you are playing “anti wordle.”
Anyway, here are my trials (sorry, I didn’t save the graphics, I just recorded the words).

I don’t think this thread is serving any purpose any more. In fact, I’m not sure it was ever serving any purpose. If you enjoy playing Wordle, play Wordle. If you don’t enjoy playing it, don’t. In neither case is it a scam.
