This poll over at Army Times got me wondering about which psychoactive drugs are being used to treat our soldiers in Iraq.
A look at the 2004 Mental Health Advisory Team Report (annex b) revealed that Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, Celexa or Lexapro were not in the formulary as of 2004. Nor were Effexor, Wellbutrin, Desyril, Ambien or Klonopin.
So which antidepressants are they using? Any SSRIs, or are they still back in the days of tricyclics and MAOi’s? Which benzodiazapines do they use, or are the troops getting Miltowns and barbiturates?
I’m not looking for a debate over the use of these drugs, in or out of combat, I’d just like to know what is being used.
Bump.
Surely someone knows something about this?
