Ken Ham, the lead piglet rapist at Answers in Genesis and the Creationist “Museum” has posted a screed against the ALS Challenge for research.
Written by one of the creation “science” researchers, “Dr.” Georgia Purdom, employed by this sham institution, it morphs from discussing current ALS fundraising efforts into an incoherent babble stream of creospeak and abortion propaganda.
Can’t we just gather up all these brainless fundies and send them off on an ice floe? No great loss.
“…We know that death and disease are intruders into God’s originally perfect creation, and we are right to work to reverse the effects of the Curse brought about by man’s rebellion…”
Well, at least she’s admitting God’s a petulant spiteful asshole and we should use science as our primary weapon against Him.
It’s articles like this that give the Greater Cincinnati area a bad name. Reading it, you’d think we were all a bunch of Protestant fundamentalist assholes, when the truth is, we have plenty of Catholic assholes, too:
I thought you were using some big word and then I realized you were just hitting the b key instead of the space key.
Anyway, if they don’t want to donate to a research that uses stem cells that’s fine but they should not impede others from doing so and if a cure is found by this method I am sure they will stick by their beliefs and decline it should they develop one of these horrible diseases.
Cell phone posting. The b is above the space bar and I have fat thumbs. I don’t see how they’re impeding others from donating…just telling tjwm they shouldn’t.
Except that even their own article repeatedly downplays the connection between the charity and stem cell research. Read through it. It’s amazing how many quotes are in there talking about how embryonic stem cells are barely used, and how the ones they do use are from one specific line, etc, etc. They’re making a mountain out of a molehill, even if you agree with their condemnation of ESC lines. It’s almost as if they’re deliberately twisting the facts of reality to support their preconceived prejudices, but it’s hard to imagine creationists doing that…
