Any Baltmore SDopers? Seeking Info...

I know this is minor, but it is bugging me. Did Bill Kidd’s Toyota once sell Chrysler Plymouth Dodge new cars in the 1990s? I could swear I bought my second car from them, but I am told that’s not possible. Apparently, there is such a dealer across the street (at least today) called Don White…of which I have no recollection.

This is bugging me because I can picture the scene very clearly in my mind. This isn’t just any memory, but Cal Ripken, Jr. was car shopping there at the same time. Also, the car I bought had intermittent issues, and I can clearly picture the entrance to the service center on this lot. Nowadays, I am out of town and it would be a great inconvenience to drive in just to see if the lay of land matches what I recall.

Any chance Bill Kidd sold other brands beyond Toyota in the 1990s? Am I nuts?

FWIW, here’s a late 1970’s TV commercial for Bill Kidd Toyota. “Yup!”

I remember the jingle Don White used in his ads:

Don White treats you right
On every automobile
Don White’s Car Center
Home of The Impossible Deal!

(No mention of a brand)

Geez, my mind’s a blank on Don White! (Maybe Don White is too plain to stand out in my memory, and I worked in the area for a major employer no less!) Oh, sure I remember Bill Kidd’s, but obviously I do not recall the brand(s) they sold/sell. The mind’s a funny thing! Maybe Bill Kidd and Don White traded dealerships the day I came to buy!

I lived in B-more in the 80s thru early 90s and back then it clearly was just Bill Kidd’s Toyota (“Yup”).

Meanwhile Don White’s has apparently been under this identity at its current location since at least 1993 according to the manta.com page on them. But if they were there before they did not make any impression on me!
