I’ve won $2 once and $1 the other day. My daughter won $18 on a $1 scratch off and none of my friends have ever done any better. Because I never win I rarely play but tonight will be different - I feel I’m going to hit it big! Has anyone here ever won a substantial amount in a lottery?

Not me but back in the 80’s my grandparents won $100,000.00. With that they were able to buy a house and a boat.

I won $25 on a scratch ticket a couple of weeks ago, which is my biggest lottery win so far.
Years ago, when the lottery was new in our state and there was only one style of scratch ticket, I went into a convenience store to buy a drink and a ticket before work. Turned out I only had enough change to buy the drink and the fellow behind me wound up getting my ticket. He scratched it off right there and then and won fifty bucks. Not a fortune but I could have used it back then.
Should add that when the lottery was new here, Pops knew a co-worker and a former co-worker who each won just over a million dollars, which was a big deal back then. The co-worker was on the verge of divorce. One day, just after the big win, he came in with his almost-ex-wife hanging all over him.
I personally won $10 dollars (came out $10 ahead) on a vegas video poker machine while I was in the airport one time.
When I was a kid, we played Keno at a restaurant and we all picked numbers, including my dad, mom and sister. Dad split the winnings with us since we helped him win. I think he won about $400.
I’ve never played lottery, and I’ve only bought 3 scratch tickets ever. What’s funny is that I bought and scratched those three in succession, paying for the next with the previous one: the first one delivered 5 euros, the second one also 5 e, and the third one a nice 300 e. The kiosk cashier couldn’t believe her eyes. I was happy and called it quits.
I think my biggest win was ~£80.
I won a little over $21k (CDN) on a 50/50 at a hockey game several years ago. Tax free, woot.
