As for the risk, risk is more of a factor in craps strategy than other casino games because a dirty secret craps players don’t share is that your odds bet (whether taking or laying) are long-term break-even bets and as such it makes no difference whether you play odds or not. What they do is increase volatility so that when you do get on a run you make a lot more or inversely lose a lot more when the table is cold.
